American developmental neuropsychologist and educator at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. Rose co-founded CAST (the Center for Applied Special Technology) with Anne Meyer in the early 1980s and, drawing on cognitive neuroscience, articulated Universal Design for Learning during the 1990s as a framework for building flexibility for learner variability into curriculum and materials from the outset.
